Your task

Describe your problem for us and we will work with you to bring you solutions. Customers from a wide range of application backgrounds have already benefitted from our results:

  • Ink and paint adhesion
  • Adhesion of a wide range of materials
  • Stability of emulsions and foams
  • Pigment and powder wetting
  • Single fibre surfaces and nonwovens
  • Optimisation of release coatings
  • Biocompatibility of metals and plastics with regards to wettability
  • Surface optimisation of microscopic structures
  • Surface characterisation of molten metal and glass
  • Characterisation of microemulsions

As experts in interfacial chemistry we will solve your problem – quickly and competently.

Our solution

We have the ideal measuring methods for solving your problem. We work to ISO, EU DIN and ASTM standards and, as experienced specialists, are equipped with state-of-the-art KRÜSS instruments including the full range of special accessories.

In addition to the standard methods of static and dynamic tensiometry, contact angle measurement and foam analysis we have also mastered many specialist measuring challenges:

  • Very small interfacial tensions (from 10-5 mN/m)
  • Surface and interfacial tension at very high pressures (up to 690 bar)
  • Contact angles at high temperatures (up to 1750°C)
  • Wetting of very small surfaces with microdosed droplets (from 15 pl volumes)
  • Wetting in cavities (e.g. in implants)
  • Wetting of fibres with a very small diameter (both single fibres and nonwovens)
  • Adsorption kinetics at interfaces

The result

As a result of our measurements or project work for you, you will receive a comprehensive range of services:

  • An comprehensive measurement report with detailed tabular and graphical presentation of the
results as well as our suggestions for solving the problem or optimising the product
  • Absolute confidentiality in dealing with your products and the results
  • Reliable advice, even after the report has been handed over

Our knowledge

Our team of scientists and trained technicians is extremely well prepared, even for difficult questions. We are represented at international conferences such as BUBBLE & DROP, CESIO, ECIS, EUFOAM, SEPAWA with technical papers. Our laboratory workers write articles for specialised journals such as Colloids and Surfaces or Coating.

Our lead

We are sitting at the source: The SSC has access to up-todate KRÜSS know-how at any time and also to the latest generation of instruments. The characterisation of interfaces is our core competence.

Reliable: our order processing

  • Inform yourself about the favorably-priced possibilities for contact analyses. Measurements on single samples are planned and carried out in just the same way as large measuring series. We are also able to meet your deadlines to a very large extent – after agreement we can carry out measurements at very short notice (24h service)
  • If you are considering purchasing an instrument then please contact us if you want to test its suitability for solving your problem

A non-binding request for information about contract analyses can be sent to us via Email, phone or your local KRÜSS partner.
