News of a double talent: software update DSA2.6
Mobile contact angles with the MobileDrop and extremely low interfacial tension with the SITE100: the DSA2 software is responsible for both measuring tasks. Update 2.6 brings improvements for the MobileDrop and SITE100 instruments.
Rounded off: DSA2 for MobileDrop
The wide range of measurable sample formats with MobileDrop has been extended even further: in the new software version a curved baseline can be drawn through the three-phase contact point for rounded surfaces. The automatic data export of the required quantities in flexible text formats is another new feature.
Wound up: DSA2 for SITE100
The Spinning Drop Tensiometer SITE100 is the specialist for extremely low interfacial tensions (right down to 10-6 mN/m), such as are targeted in enhanced oil recovery or aqueous degreasing processes. DSA2 controls the rotation and carries out contour analysis on the spinning drop. KRÜSS has developed new contour detection methods for Version 2.6 which allow measurements on low-contrast drop images. Improved user guidance makes intuitive program operation easier.
Warm and cold drops
Temperature changes in a two-phase system influence the interfacial tension. KRÜSS has produced the thermostattable glass cuvet SC30 for measurements above and below room temperature with the pendant drop method. By using flow-through thermostats, which are also available from KRÜSS, the surrounding liquid phase is brought to the required temperature (controllable between 0 … 100°C) before the measurement.
