KRÜSS seminars worldwide
This autumn we offer you again a wide range of seminars worldwide, even in a place near by.
The KRÜSS seminars targets both, the novice looking for the basics and the experienced user confronted with concrete measuring problems.
You receive a comprehensive introduction to surface and interfacial tension measurements of liquids and solids by qualified consultants. The focus is put strongly on the combination of theoretical background and user-related solutions of concrete problems. Therefore the practical experience with our measuring instruments plays an important part.
Please note, that in some countries the events are arranged in cooperation with our exclusive distributors. But of course our own staff will be present .
Additional information please find in the category “Fairs & Dates”. The respective contact of the seminars are flagged with an asterisk (*). For the address details, please visit the list on our homepage (Contact / Offices): www.kruss.de
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our seminars soon.

From image analysis to surface sciences

Ladies and Gentlemen,
as a new member of KRÜSS I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Dr. Jan-Gerd Frerichs. Since July 2004 I have worked as a Technical Assistant to the management board of KRÜSS with emphasis on optical measurement instruments (OMI).
After finishing school I started my studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Hannover. I concentrated on information technology and image analysis and finished studies in 1997 with my diploma. My degree dissertation lead into the area of biotechnology, where I worked in an interdisciplinary field together with scientists and engineers. My degree dissertation was titled "Development of Image Analysis Routines for In-situ Microscopy". In-situ microscopy is an optical inline measuring technique for the analysis of animal and yeast cells.
During my PhD thesis at the Institut für Technische Chemie, University of Hannover, I further developed the in-situ microscopy system. After two years working in the IT-industry returned to University in 2001 as a postdoc to turn the in-situ microscope from a prototype into a robust system for industrial applications.
During this time the contact to KRÜSS was established at the ACHEMA 2003 fair in Frankfurt where I presented the in-situ microscope. From the first we agreed that high scientific demand and user-friendly development are not mutually exclusive.
As a member of the KRÜSS team I will be in charge of new developments and improvements of the OMI product line. I am looking forward to an intensive and exciting co-operation with you and to new ideas growing up to new products.
Best regards,
Dr. Jan-Gerd Frerichs.
New face in France

My name is Marie Gallais and I am a new face in the KRÜSS team since last April.
I would like to briefly introduce myself to you.
I studied Applied Physics at the University of Bordeaux I. Following my undergraduate studies, I decided to work in the field of technical sales and so I completed my education in Physics with a Master of Science in “Design, utilisation & sales of instrument measuring techniques”. I gained knowledge in sales by working in a petrochemical company in the department of manufacturing & commercialisation of catalysts & adsorbents.
Since I joined KRÜSS, I have been responsible for developing sales contacts in France & UK and providing you with information covering technical and scientific problems associated with surface chemistry.
Having completed an intensive training course at the company headquarters in Hamburg, I am currently based at our French office in the Paris region.
I hope to have the opportunity of meeting you personally in the near future.
Marie Gallais
