For some years now KRÜSS has been concentrating on modularity in hardware and software development, so that an instrument suitable for a particular measuring task can be put together from our wide range of sample tables, environmental chambers, measuring programs and other components. In addition, under the heading "MySolution" KRÜSS now offers a particular service: in close cooperation with the customer we can put together individual solutions for particular measuring applications.

In discussions with our customer liaison specialists we sometimes learn that none of the possible instrument configurations from our range of supply is completely satisfactory and that a special solution is required. In a subsequent discussion with the responsible product manager it is possible to clarify many of the requirements. We can then offer the customer a possible solution and construct a working model with which we can demonstrate its feasibility. In close cooperation with the customer we then produce a special version that masters the tasks to be solved.

The problems that frequently require such special solutions are often concerned with quality assurance and involve large numbers of samples with identical dimensions. The latest example of such a custom-made instrument was a single-fiber Tensiometer K100SF, which with the aid of a sample loading system was able to make automatic series contact angle measurements on up to 50 fibers - the result of a cooperation between KRÜSS and Messrs. Dia-Stron. In a different case we were concerned with very large samples across whose surface the contact angle instrument GH100 had to be moved by a robot - this project has now resulted in a standard KRÜSS product.
