DSA3 update extends DSA100 modularity
From today Update 1.6 is available for the Drop Shape Analysis Software DSA3. The software now also works with rapid IEEE-1394 cameras and permits mapping measurements with a wafer table.
The drop shape analysis software DSA3 extends the modular contact angle measuring instrument DSA100 from KRÜSS. The current 1.6 Version contains an option for working with IEEE-1394 cameras. The camera module CF3215 which can be supplied for it offers full resolution at about double the single frame speed (60 fps compared with 25 fps for the standard camera). It does not require a frame-grabber and allows flexible operation with a notebook. With only a few alterations in the settings of the software measurements up to 240 fps could be realized.
A further innovation concerns the DSA3 mapping function. Thanks to the integration of polar coordinates the update now also works with computer-controlled wafer sample tables. This means that the contact angle can now be determined on wafers and other round samples as a function of the sample position.

Contact angle standards CP3621/22 as new MobileDrop accessory
In order to guarantee the quality of the optical components and the analysis software for contact angle measurements KRÜSS uses and sells optical standards with lithographically applied drop shapes. These standards, with contact angles of 30°, 60° and 120°, are available with certificates demonstrating their traceability to international standards.
From today a calibration set with standards is also available for the mobile contact angle measuring instrument MobileDrop. The drop shapes in the set exactly follow the shapes according to the Young-Laplace equation. Adaptation to the altered test arrangement and to the small base area of the instrument are made by using stands into which the instrument is simply inserted.
